Are you stuck in the future or in the past?
In Zero-to-One, Peter Thiel asks this question: “What important truth do very few people agree with you on?”
He asks this question for two reasons:
1) To force people to think critically about their beliefs.
2) It makes an important assumption about the future. He defines the future not as a measure of time, but as a measure of change. That the future is a distinct change from the world today. Therefore, people who believe in contrarian truths are the only people capable of seeing the future. People who hold no opposing viewpoints are, by his definition, living in the past. Dinosaurs.
