Brain snacks for a longer and more fulfilling life.
“Don’t follow your passions, age with your interests.”
The best advice can live as a single, simple line.
I saw James Altucher speak at a Brunchworks event a few weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised by how good he was. He lost me as a fan a year or so ago, when he became a Bitcoin used-car salesman. It turned away a lot of people.
Seeing him speak live reminded me of just how brilliant and great of a speaker he is. I guess we all make mistakes. After a long hiatus, I took a second look at his podcast, and this was one of the recent episodes: “Don’t follow your passions, age with your interests.”
I’ve never thought of that reframe, but it changes everything. It makes life about the long game. Hobbies become lifelong companions instead of instant gratification snacks. And speaking of snacks…
Lesser Evil Paleo Puffs (Cheetos)
These aren’t healthy, they’re still a cheat. But for someone trying to avoid snacking on the Standard American Diet (SAD), this is a slightly lesser evil. They’re basically Cheetos, but made out of Cassava flour and coconut oil instead of corn and vegetable oil.
Prepare to pay a premium, but the five buck cost should help limit how many of these grain-free snacks I devour. Maybe. Whatever, life is just better with Cheetos in it.
And hats off to the great brand name.

Question
I collect questions, and love to journal on them. Here’s the question I’m thinking in now:
What was your first memory of fear?
This one came up in Tim Ferriss’ fantastic interview with Amanda Palmer.
