A good way to start Thursday morning, a quote from Otto von Bismarck.
Fools learn from experience. I prefer to learn from the experience of others.
Cool parents don’t follow this advice. The cool parents who think their kids should learn from their own mistakes. They say run off, do your thing, and if it’s stupid, life will teach you a lesson. But if you love someone, you don’t want to set them up to learn only from mistakes. A more successful life skill is to learn from those around you, and these parents don’t always teach that piece.
Adults don’t follow this advice. I don’t need to find out what it’s like to lose it all. That’s what I read James Altucher for. The idea of failure is so glorified today, that we forget it’s not the ultimate goal.
Take it from a man who got shit done. Thanks Otto!
